More than15.000 workers have died building constructions for the 2023 football World Cup in Qatar.
Amnesty wanted to make Danes aware of the massive human rights problems, and hold FIBA accountable for making Qatar the host.
For the last qualifications in Denmark, Amnesty´s campaign encouraged people to sign a petition for change. More than 280.000 signed, and the petition it was send to FIFA before the world Cup.
The headline of the poster reads “There is a lovely country, but it is not Qatar” “There is a lovely country” is the first line of the Danish national anthem being sung before each game kicks off.
